Glamorous Oscar Hairstyles Reach for the Stars
It was a wondrous event to say the least, and for the first time in long while the glam and glitz of the evening carried over into the hairstyles. With looks ranging from elegant updos like Salma Hayek’s high-towering bun to old Hollywood waves as seen on Reece Witherspoon, Jessica Chastain and even Helen Hunt, glamour is clearly making a much-needed comeback.
An obvious homage to Veronica Lake, we were graced with many interpretations of long, shiny and fabulously rolling waves emanating from deeply side-parted beginnings. The less-is-more approach worked well for Sandra Bullock’s sleek, side-pinned look with an ornate broach that doubled as a hair clip. Fauxbobs bounced through the evening with a showing on Zooey Deschanel and Stacy Keibler, allowing them to visit the versatility of a shorter style without sacrificing precious length. Even short coifs like Anne Hathaway’s Audrey Hepburn inspired coif or Charlize Theron’s impish pixie took a timeless stand.
