Get Brooke Burke Charvet's Hairstyle

Celebrity hairstylist Jonathan Hanousek spills how he created Brooke Burke Charvet's look for the finals of Dancing with the Stars.

Inspired by her dramatic Michael Costello gown, Hanousek created a pompadour faux hawk with an oblong braided chignon to help balance the strong shoulders and textures of the dress. First he layered Bumble and Bumble Thickening Spray and White Sands UnderCover Styling Spray on damp hair.

From the outside corners of the eyes, he made two clean parts back to the crown and pinned the section out of the way. Then, Hanousek blow dried the rest of the hair with a medium round brush to create a smooth finish.

He took the sides of the hair and gathered it into a ponytail in the back, fastening with a small rubber band. Flay aways were cleaned up using a fine tooth tail comb and White Sands Infinity Hairspray.

Using a small round brush, Hanousek blow dried the top of the hair concentrating on lifting the roots for volume. A few pumps of Moroccan Oil Glimmer Shine Spray was misted on all over to smooth and add shine.Using his fingers and the blow dryer, he pushed the hair up and towards the center to create the pomp. A few pumps of the White Sands Infinity Hairspray over the top holds the shape.

Next he placed crisscross bobby pins down the center of the pomp and rolled one side over to conceal, fastening with invisible hairpins. "At this point," says Hanousek, "think loose French twist and look in the mirror and adjust the shape that’s best for your face. It’s best if it is not too symmetrical, as it will look more interesting."

He let the rest of the hair cover the first ponytail, fastening with a couple pins. Then, he gathered all the remaining hair and created a single braid. Hanousek twisted the braid up, tucked in the ends and fastened with bobby and invisible hair pins, locking everything in place with White Sands Stuck Up Mega Hold Hairspray. Viola! A pretty Pomp with dance-all-night hold!
