Hair Trends - 3X Style for Short Hair

Thrice - 3X the Style

Carter T. Lund of A Carter T. Lund Salon of Austin, Texas is showing off some bold new short cuts with ultra-rich color and precision geometric shapes. Known for creating cutting edge short hairstyles, this Framesi Italian Style Team member adds his signature touches with absolute precision and unique color statements.

Brittani came in to the salon with shoulder length, medium density, coarse hair that was pre-colored to a dark brown. Using a color blocking technique, Carter created a red violet foundation with golden coppery blocks that accent the shape of the cut. For the cut itself, Carter applied a blunt edge at the shoulders and then added diamond layering for a shaggy feel and a very strong, carved-out fringe.

For a smooth look, Framesi Identity Hair Force was cocktailed with Framesi Serum (for color treated hair), and applied from scalp to ends. Carter blow-dried the hair straight with a paddle brush and then smoothed a flat iron through for a sleek finish. A few drops of Framesi Argan Oil were smoothed over the surface to seal in the style.

By merely moving strands around, roughing up the texture with his hands, a small about of piecing through the hair leaves a tousled finish.

For a curly take, Carter worked in Framesi BY Strong Mousse and Identity XS TWIST and re-dried with a round brush, lifting up on top for volume. Larger sections were bumped in alternating directions with an extra large iron and then Framesi Identity X-Pand Fibrous Pomade was worked through, finger styling the large bends into place.
