Skin-Loving Benefits of Argan
I have a thing for natural extracts, as you may be able to tell from my other reviews, and most of the time I find myself gravitating toward unique products from smaller manufacturers. Maybe it’s because I get the whole small business owner thing or that I associate specialty lines with addressing specific market needs that larger lines tend to look past. Regardless, I wanted to share a fabulous little find.
I had a chance to review a wonderful potion by Canada’s very own Arganio called Argan Soft Skin Lotion. Just a small amount of this ultra lightweight lotion on my hands, arms and legs, especially after shaving, made for soft and nourished skin. It’s not greasy, like some heavy oils can be, and absorbed very quickly without the use of alcohol or any drying agents. The scent is a delicate lavender (yum).

A quick peek at the label revealed several favorite ingredients:
Persia gratissima or Avocado oil is extracted from the fruit itself, which is very rich in protein, lecithin and vitamins A, B1, B2, B5, D & E. It is also a natural UV-A and UV-B filter, which is a plus for any skin lotion. Prunus Amygdalus dulcis or Almond oil is easily absorbed by the body and is a great moisturizer while Simmondsia Chinensis or Jojoba seed extract is especially beneficial in treating irritated skin.
Argania spinosa or Argan oil, one of the main ingredients, offers moisturizing and anti-aging properties and is naturally rich in antioxidants, essential fatty acids and contains high levels of Vitamin E. Argan oil reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, increases elasticity, protects against stretch marks and soothes itchy and irritated skin. This multipurpose moisturizer effectively nourishes skin, repairs hair and strengthens nails, naturally.

So, in a nutshell, or technically extracted from one - this is another great find. If you have dry or irritated skin, prefer a lightweight product and have a love of natural ingredients like I do, give this little gem a try!
