Sizzling Summer Curly Coif
Looking for a sunny new look to work with the carefree days of summer? Check out this curly coif by Salon Kavi in San Mateo, California. The perfect sundress-topping 'do that can be dressed up for night or undone for day.
The new look in progress...
Sarah’s hair is naturally curly, but the length weighed down the texture and the coils never showed. She also had a natural dark blonde hue, which had never been colored before and was looking dull.
Wanting to give Sarah an all-over lighter look, colorist Victoria Pelaez applied a series of fine highlights, alternating two shades of medium golden and light blonde. The end result is a soft baby blonde that displays a sense of innocence. Stylist Maria Montilla took the length up the back with a slight A-line in front leaving a shoulder-touching look. She added tons of layers for body and to help set free the natural curl. Very blunt bangs were added with rounded length in the corners to draw attention to Sarah’s stunning eyes.
Moroccan Oil and Moroccan Curl Cream were mixed together and applied onto Sarah’s towel-dried hair. The length was combed through to distribute the product evenly. A few drops of just the Moroccan Oil were run through the bangs and then a round brush was used while blow-drying to smooth the fringe into place. Sections of the rest of the hair were twirled around Maria’s finger to help activate the curl and then were scrunched while diffuse-drying. Once completely dry, small sections were detailed with a ¾-inch curling iron before misting with Kérastase Double Force to finish.
